Description

Original UK Atlantic red & plum label stereo press LP.

The second lp by Iron Butterfly, recorded in Los Angeles in May 1968 and released in June 1968. The album features Erik Brann as their new guitarist and Lee Dorman who replaced the other original band members who left after the release of their first album Heavy in mid-1967. The album and single In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida was an instant success and went platinum, becoming Atlantic's best selling LP for years to come.

This is the first issue with the earliest A//1 2Y//2 matrices and 1-1-1 1-1-2 stampers of the very first presses!   The MacNeill Press front laminated sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some very light edge/corner wear and some very light laminate rubbing/creasing on the front cover. The spine is intact and fully readable, the plain inner is intact & in EX condition.   The record is in visually EX condition, with a few faint & wispy sleeve removal hairlines and a couple of light needle scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with evidence of only one or two faint spindle markings.   The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud pops, hiss or crackle & no skips, sticks or jumps, overall a really great loud & clear listen.   The matrix nos. are; 588116, A//1-420 stamper 1-1-1, 2Y//2 stamper 1-1-2. This is one of the very early copies of the 1st pressing of the original 1968 UK stereo issue of this album!

  All lp's are sent in cardboard record mailers with plastic covers and cardboard stiffeners to protect the LP's!!   UK Signed For Postage is £4.50 for the first LP & is the same for up to four single LP's or two double LP's or more up to 2kg.
