Record Grading M A still sealed and never played record. NM Near Mint looks like new but played a few times. EX A lightly used with no visible scratches or sleeve scuffs. VG+ A used but not abused record that may have 1 or 2 light paper scratches or scuffing but DNAP. Will be noted if any scratches or scuffs exist. VG Played many times and may have a few scratches and scuffs but are not fingernail detectable. Usually, will have some background noise. G Well-worn but should play through without repeating and may have one or more detectable scratches. Record Cover Grading M A sealed brand-new cover, if issue exists it will be described. NM Cover may have a few very minor flaws otherwise will appear as though brand new. EX Cover will show a few minor imperfections, very light wear to the corners and edges. VG+ Cover will show a few signs of wear and handling. May include light stains/discoloration, small crease marks, and faint wear (shelf or ring). Possible markings such as a cut corner, hole punch, saw cut or small ink markings. VG Cover will show several of the same signs of wear and handling present on a VG+ cover. Splits to the seam or spine will not exceed 2" in length. The presence of a single pronounced flaw, such as extremely prominent shelf or ring wear, marking, staining, writing, or discoloration will cause an LP cover to be graded VG, as will the presence of a appreciable number of minor flaws. G Cover will show many minor imperfections, and multiple pronounced flaws such as prominent shelf or ring wear, marking, staining, writing, or discoloration.
