Description

This is an exceptionally rare, original 1968 white label promo pressing of Iron Butterfly’s debut album, Heavy (ATCO 33-227). Unlike common pink-label retail copies, this is a highly coveted, true Mono radio station pressing featuring the factory-printed "Sample Copy Not For Sale" text and the punchy, dedicated AM radio mix. Dead wax matrix etchings include the Monarch plant triangle symbols and the earliest A-1 master lacquer cuts, proving this is an elite West Coast first pressing.
The vinyl is in excellent, glossy condition with clean labels and very few signs of play. While it lacks the original paper inner sleeve, it will ship safely in a high-quality replacement. The jacket features the authentic "Audition Record" stamp on the front, showing only minimal age wear and one minor corner ding. Because pristine mono white label promos of this album have completely vanished from the market, it stands as an absolute investment-grade grail piece for serious psych-rock collectors.
