THE BEATLES ~ Introducing the Beatles (VJLP-1062) 2 for 1 ~ 2 Version 2 Covers + 2 Mono LPs ~ Version 1 & Version 2

COVERS: Both sleeves are Version 2 mono

The better cover is in G+ condition and displays only light to moderate rub & ring wear on the front particularly near the bottom. May have had some water spilled on the front in a small area also but it is hardly noticeable as it is not stained. Back cover showing only light wear with some foxing and yellowing due to age. There is a name written in pencil in the top left back corner. Top & bottom seams are intact with no splits but worn and the paper is flaking off. Spine is in nice shape with the title print, etc. clearly legible. See pics.  

The other cover is in Fair to Poor condition. The front displays moderate to heavy rub & ring wear and there is a small tear in Ringo’s trousers. There is a noticeable horizontal crease that runs across the entire width of the lower third of the jacket front & back. In the lower front right corner, there is a crease where the paper has separated from the underlying cardboard. The back of the cover shows only light to moderate wear with some yellowing due to age. The seams & spine are in intact but heavily worn with paper flaking off in some places and it looks as if the seams & spine were glued at one time to hold them together.

Both jackets seem to be genuine with George’s shadow clearly visible and the back of the sleeve is glued to a one-quarter inch flap on the inside of the front of the sleeve.

RECORDS:

Version 1: Includes “Love Me Do” & “P.S. I Love You”. Poor condition. Black rainbow label with the oval Vee-Jay. Label has "The Beatles"above the spindle hole and centered song titles & songwriters’ credits & ‘Long Playing’ & ‘Microgroove’ appear on the label. Both sides have the hand etched initial ‘A’ as well as the machine stamped Audio Matrix & ‘ARP’ logos. This variation was pressed by ARP (American Record Pressing Co., Owosso, MI) so this seems to be a genuine pressing. Wear & some scratches evident on both labels. Vinyl has many scratches, scuffs and a few blemishes. Much surface noise audible throughout both sides and Side 1 skips on tracks 3 & 4 while Side 2 skips on tracks 2, 4, 5 & 6. A wall hanger perhaps, but not a player to say the least. See pics.

Version 2: With “Ask Me Why” & “Please, Please Me”. Good condition. Flat black labels with silver VJ logo. Small number of light scratches & paper scuffs and the vinyl retains much of its luster. The record plays with little surface noise BUT track #2 does skip on Side 1. The labels have some light spindle marks visible when viewed at certain angles. According to what I have been able to determine, this record seems to be a genuine pressing with "The Beatles" above the spindle hole & the words “SIDE 1 & SIDE 2” all in caps on the labels indicating that this record was probably pressed by Columbia Records of Bridgeport, CT. Getting a Version 1 in good condition can be rather expensive so I’m offering this lot at a low opening bid so that someone can have the opportunity of owning one even if it's for display purposes only.
