Description
This one's pretty amazing. I found it an estate sale today and was ridiculously excited when I pulled it out of the stack. It's an incredibly rare promotional copy of the classic record, "Introducing the Sonics," on the Jerden label. JRL-7007, which is the mono pressing, I believe, and the rarer version, to the best of my knowledge. (I've sold hundreds of records on ebay, but I'm not really an expert, so I'll try and answer any questions you might have to the best of my ability.) As for condition, it's pretty darn good. The record is just about pristine; not a scratch or a scuff or hairline mark on it. Doesn't look like it was played at all, the white promotional labels don't have any wear. The record should sound awesome should you choose to play it (frankly, I wouldn't). The cover is pretty nice, though not as nice as the record. It has no splitting or creasing or anything, but has some light surface wear. Some wear to the edges and corners in a couple of places. I've taken lots of photos to give you a good idea. Plain white sleeve; I'm assuming that's what went out with the promo records.
I was able to find only one recent sale of this record and a non-promotional copy, stereo pressing, went for nearly $500. That's how rare the record is. Now add the promotional aspect to it and it's mega-rare. I usually try not to pump up my auctions too much. I hate when sellers say every one of their items is the most incredible thing ever, but I'm pretty excited about this one. And I hope you are, too.
Overall, amazing record with a great low opening bid.
