Description

Up for auction is a nice copy of the super-rare 'Version 1' Vee-Jay release, "Introducing The Beatles" (VJLP 1062) in MONO. Released early January, 1964, this is the rare, short-lived LP which included hits 'Love Me Do' and 'P.S. I Love You'. This of course proved to be a problem, since Capitol Records owned the rights to those 2 songs, and within 1 month, VJ was forced to stop selling "Introducing..." with those 2 songs on the LP. 1 month exactly after it's initial release, 'Introducing..." now played 'Ask Me Why' and 'Please, Please Me', instead of 'Love Me Do' and 'P.S.'

Thus, this Version 1 copy is among the rarest of all Beatles' releases, and a treasure to find in any condition. The LP grades VG to VG+, with some visible scratch marks and other surface markings. The playback of the entire record however is quiet, not a skip, and full sounding. The labels are in Excellent shape- this is the colorband label with the Oval Vee Jay logo and centered-print of the tracklistings. "Long Playing" at 9 o'clock, and "Microgroove" at 3 o'clock.

The bad news is the cover: As you can see in the pictures, the front is slightly faded, and someone wrote "$2.00" in marker, right on the front. The top seam is split all the way, and the bottom seam is split 2-3 inches.  The spine is strong, completely legible end to end.

Here's a chance to get a Beatles Rare Gem, at a decent price!  And like I said, the record plays great, which is the important part!
