We introduced ourselves and after the usual "Nice to meet you” type dialogue, our converstions shifted almost immediately to the subject in which we all shared common interests, Gospel music. We talked for a good while about every different aspect of the Gospel music trade and I noticed that their eyes would glow with excitement and their words were charged with enthusiasm as they would talk of winning souls for the Lord through Gospel music. After spending a great deal of time with Steve, Darlene, Debbie, Larry, Glenn and Ray both in Muncie and at the studio in Nashville. Their purpose for singing became more and more clear to me. It wasn’t the promise of a glamourous or prosperous life that drew them into the ministry but rather total dedication to one cause . . . Winning lost souls to the Lord. The Bible says in Proverbs 11:30 "He that winneth souls is wise." It also says in Daniel 12:3 "And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever.” Shining ever so brightly on this album, I present to you the perfect picture of "Total Dedication," The Gospel Light Singers.
