Description
This LP is a first UK stereo press of Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
However, it is a bit of a unicorn. That is why I bought it years ago.
- The matrices are:
- (Side A, stamped): YEX 637 -1 A A 1
- (Side B, stamped): YEX 638-1 R O 4
Beatles officianados will recognise these identifiers as the misprint of the 1st UK stereo pressing, where the two labels have been swapped on this pressing. Side 1 comes with the side 2 label and side 2 comes with the side 1 label. The matrix numbers and KT code are on the correct sides. Presntly, I can't find a single one of these for sale.
These matrices are not applicable to any other first presses, only the misprint.
The thing with this one is that whilst having the misprint identifiers and being a first press, it has the correct labels on each side. I have never come accross one of these before and cannot find on Discogs, or anywhere else, for that matter.
The sleeve is in beautiful condition with only minor imperfectios which I have taken close ups of. The disc is in lovely EX- condition, with only faint hairline marks. Labels are beautiful and glossy.
Comes with original untouched cut-out page and original psychadelic inner in excellent condition.
Overall a brilliant example of this first press that is something that will stand your collection apart from all others.
