Description

For sale here is an iconic, 1960s-era LP:


"The Velvet Underground & Nico", released by Verve Records (V6-5008) in 1967. This is the original pressing of this LP, featuring the iconic Andy Warhol banana cover with the peelable sticker. 


This is the "torso" cover. The actor's torso can clearly be seen superimposed over Lou Reed's head on the back cover.

PLAY TESTED. No skips or warps. At the most quiet points (listen to attached video) some slight popping can be heard; when the music kicks in, it overpowers any slight noise. 


The vinyl is EXC; a handful of very faint, small hairlines across the two sides. Very glossy. The cover is VG+, partial seam splits (5" and 8") on LP side, some staining on back, generally normal wear for age. Banana sticker is intact, the verbiage "peel slowly and see" is missing. Verve paper inner sleeve. Both labels are clean and complete.
