Description
This is one of the original 5000 Soudhouse Tapes 7" EP, released in late 1979 that was only available by mail order or at gigs. There are many examples of this record, some later copies, some counterfeit and some available from overseas and they all come without any history or provenance.
I can tell you exactly when and where this record was bought making it a very rare example indeed. I bought it at Iron Maidens gig at Wakefield Unity Hall on 7th February 1980 and have had it ever since. The record is 100% genuine and has the expected original markings on the run off. Side 1 reads : *EG* SA LYN 7627-IT (very faint) ROK-1-A...Side 2 reads : *EG* SA LYN 7628-IT (very faint) ROK-1-B.
There are some surface marks on each side of the record but a DJ friend has checked it and it plays without jumping or skipping. The sleeve is also 100% genuine, made from thin card with folded sides on the back and opening at the top. There is some small pen marks on the front top right and in the 'O' of IRON..pls see photos. I have seen mention on other listings of a poster that comes with it, to be honest, I cant remember getting one with this, perhaps the poster only came with the mail order ones?...This is your chance to own the real thing.
