You are bidding on a near mint vinyl LP of ‘Somewhere in Time’ as released by Iron Maiden in 1986. It is simply stunning.
The outer sleeve is as close as you will get to turning the clock back to 1986 and picking it up of the record store racks yourself. The inner appears similarly pristine at first glance but does have a split in the bottom seam. The vinyl is pristine and plays perfectly. An added bonus is the full colour merchandise order form which is equally pristine. I am only selling this LP because I have it on CD a no longer own a good quality record deck
Sure, there are many copies of this album for sale on EBay, but there will not be many vinyl copies better than this one.
This is the sixth studio album from the legends, and was released at a time when they were arguably at their most exciting, and unbelievably this release remains underrated. The galloping riffs are still present. The music is still melodic. The instrumental sections are still long and great. If it isn’t broken, don't fix it, right? Sure, the band incorporated synthesisers for the first time but they enhanced their increasingly complex/progressive songs but without sacrificing any ferocity.
For a band that had hardly changed its style over 5 albums, ‘Somewhere in Time’ was an adventurous release. From the brilliant cover art to the last riff on ‘Alexander the Great’, Iron Maiden continued to impress the world with their amazing releases, excellent musicianship, and insane performances. This is definitely an album you should have in your collection.
The album peaked at #3 in the UK and certified gold and in the USA where it peaked at #11 on the Billboard charts and was subsequently certified platinum. Two singles were released from the album, ‘Wasted Years’ and ‘Stranger in a Strange Land” which peaked at #18 and #22 respectively in the UK singles chart.
‘Heaven Can Wait’ is also on this release and, despite not featuring in the live set any more, is a bona fide classic.
