Iron Maiden : Live After Death A-2U / B-1U / A-1U / B-2U Original Pressing 1985

This original pressing from 1985 plays to a superb standard with only very minimal intrusion, the vast majority is 'as new' without a doubt.  The quiet section during 'Rime...' has a little static and the intro on 'Hallowed...' has a little interference also but it does not last long.  As always I have play tested every track in full and the sonic quality is so impressive on every side, there is no distortion at all.

The cover has been looked after so well and has only the bare minimum of corner wear.  The lyric inners are also in great shape with barely any wear.

Visual description

The vinyls are in excellent condition and still have a strong glossy look with no scratches.  Under a bright light I can see some faint hairlines and a little mottling but this has no affect on the audio.  Under 'normal' lighting they look superb!  The labels are very clean with only a little spindle wear.

Play grading

'Churchill's Speech' on S1 plays so clearly with barely any static and then 'Aces High' plays with exceptional clarity and power with no interference.  This is easily a Mint- start to the album.  '2 Minutes To Midnight' is just as strong and clear and there is literally no background here.  The sonic quality is off the scale and there is no distortion on the top end either.  A Mint version all the way.  The rest of the side plays to the same high end standard and as always I have played every second of every track.  The clarity, definition and power of the audio is phenomenal.

The epic 'Rime Of The Ancient Mariner' keeps up this fine start and plays with superb audio from the get go.  The opening section is 'as new' and then the quiet section plays clearly but with some light background static and a couple of static ticks towards the end, nothing intrusive as such.  As the volume picks up the playback is stunning and once more the sheer depth and power could not be any more impressive.  Dickinson's vocal as strong as ever.  I will grade the main part of the track as Mint- due to a couple of light ticks right at the end and the quieter passage as Ex-

'Powerslave' and 'The Number Of The Beast' end S2 with imperious quality through every section and again 'as new' sums it up perfectly.  Even the spoken intro on the latter plays with sublime clarity.  Classic tracks that both grade as Mint

The intro on 'Hallowed Be Thy Name' has a static tick once per revolution and then the opening vocal plays very clearly with only a couple of these static ticks at the beginning.  As the volume increases the audio is faultless and it continues in the same precise way.  There is no other interference - a VG intro and Mint from then on.  'Iron Maiden' plays with stunning quality throughout and 'Run To The Hills' is equal to that, the power and depth of the audio is just STUNNING!  It is Mint all the way.  The extended 'Running Free' is on the same level.  'Running' at over 8 minutes every section plays with sublime quality with not even a dust tick for company.  A Mint finish to the side.

S4 plays with exceptional quality, there is no background of any kind.  A number of classics here - '22 Acacia Avenue', 'Children Of The Damned', 'Die With Your Boots On' and 'Phantom Of The Opera'  - and they all play with stunning precision, the sonic quality could not be any more impressive.  This side is Mint from start to finish.

The Gatefold & Lyric Inners

The cover is in superb condition with no obvious wear.  In fact there is only minor corner wear / rubbing that's all there is apart from one tiny rub on the bottom edge of the back cover.  There is also a price sticker in the top left corner.  Overall a fine example and it has retained its original shape and structure perfectly.

The lyric inners are in great condition also with no side splits or creasing.  Only very minimal corner rubbing.  The first one does have some red printing mainly top right but that must have been caused during the manufacture.

Play tested on my Rega P2 with AT-VM95EN Cart / Denon PMA-520AE Amp / B&W 684 Speakers

The records have been cleaned on a Pro-Ject VC-S machine

Postage & Packaging

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping.  This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage.  The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered.  Any over-payment will always be refunded.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD).  An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known.  Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing.  Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.  Many thanks.

All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection.  They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection.  I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.

The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each.  There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up!  Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
