Description
Very nice 1st MONO NO COMMA pressing of "Introducing The Beatles" (2nd version) released in early Feb 1964. A must-have for any Beatles collector! Most of the copies of this LP out on the market (including E-bay) are the counterfeit version manufactured in the 1970s by a 3rd party.
This is the very rare authentic version that has NO COMMA in "Please Please Me" on either the label or the cover. The much more common original versions have the commas present on the cover and record label for this song. Please see my photos.
Cover -
Cover is graded as VG+ (Very Good Plus) condition using the grading standards of the Cox/Daniels "Price Guide For The Beatles American Records" (6th edition). These grading standards tend to be more stringent than Goldmine. No splits in the cover's seams or spine, but some storage wear exists along the bottom seam. No ring wear, writing, or water stains. A small stamped "C" is on the rear's upper right corner to identify the cover manufacturer (a company in Allentown, PA). Cover is Spizer version VJ1062(2).MC1A.
Record-
Record is graded as VG (Very Good) using the grading standards of the Cox/Daniels "Price Guide For The Beatles American Records" (6th edition). These grading standards tend to be more stringent than Goldmine. Vee Jay Records rainbow label with VJ bracket logo. LONG PLAYING and MICROGROOVE are ALL CAPS with the first having a space b/w words. Titles are left justified and NO comma in "Please Please Me". Manufactured by ARC. AudioMatrix stamp is visible in the runout as well as the handwritten date that the presser was manufactured "2-11-64". Clean labels other than very slight wear to the rainbow portion of side 2. Some various scuffs and minor shallow marks of various length which do not affect play. I accurately grade my records using a bright light so that the buyer knows exactly what they are receiving before they bid. Record is Spizer version VJ1062(2).MR2D(ii).
