Description

Prestige Folklore 14025, "Inside Dave Van Ronk" from 1964. This is an original sealed copy and is presumed mint. Thereis no sign of any moisture damage on the cover, though there is some ringwear on the back; otherwise the cover has no seamwear, corner wear, bends, or writing; there is a factory XXX stamp on the back, and based on my open copy with the same stamp, this is probably an original green-label pressing. Instead of the usual blues, this LP has DVR singing heritage songs from the Irish side of his family along with some novelty numbers. They include "House Carpenter", "Cruel Ship's Captain", "Sprig of Thyme", "Talking Cancer Blues", "I Buyed Me a Little Dog", "Lady Gay", "Fair and Tender Ladies", "Brian O'Lynne", "Shanty Man's Life", "Silver Dagger", "Kentucky Moonshiner", and "He Never Came Back". The Llewyn Davis movie cribbed the cover design for a different person's LP and paired the DVR look with a much different character. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $16.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. Regrets over the overseas costs, but this is a heavy record. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 additional within U.S. and Canada, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, registered mail is strongly recommended at $11.75 extra. Many old records are practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be bent in transit and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window. More than two LPs together may be mailed inside a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
