INDIAN SUMMER
Indian Summer
RCA NEON NE3 (UK) 1971
producer RODGER BAIN for BIG BEAR (Jim Simpson) BIRMINGHAM
engineer ROBIN CABLE at TRIDENT
designed by KEEF
printed and made by the E. J. DAY GROUP, LONDON and BEDFORD
it’s actually pointless banging on about “earliest” matrix numbers,
since there was only ONE short-lived original UK pressing anyway
however, for those who are interested, the matrix / stampers are:
ZGBS 0491-3 A3B ZGBS 0492-3 A1F
rare UK Neon label original
barely a dozen albums were issued on this premier quality RCA imprint
which spawned some of the most interesting records of the progressive movement
not least of which were classic LPs by Spring, Raw Material and Tonton Macoute
difficult album to find in top shape
this example is excellent with a very near mint cover
correct original poly-lined soft black inner in clean and sharp condition
Indian Summer
BOB JACKSON COLIN WILLIAMS PAUL HOOPER MALCOLM HARKER
AMONG THE VERY BEST UK HEAVY PROGRESSIVE ALBUMS WITH HUGE KEYBOARDS
INCLUDING MELLOTRON, AND SOME FINE BLAZING GUITAR WORK
EVERY TRACK IS AN EPIC OF MONSTROUS PROPORTIONS
THIS IS ONE OF THOSE VERY RARE RECORDS WHICH HAS A PROFOUND
AND LONG-LASTING EFFECT ON THE LISTENER
record NEAR EXCELLENT
super high gloss - UK 1st press original
would grade near mint except for light hairline traces and insignificant superficial handling marks
no scratches - plays great throughout - super loud and clear
merely the same light ‘surface’ in quiet passages that all copies, and most old records have
the original RCA Neon black poly-lined soft paper inner bag with white lettering:
PATENT Nos. 1125555 1072844 MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN is in excellent condition
labels MINT
original UK 1971 1st and only pressing with the Aphrodite side one label design
both labels are bright, sharp and clean with no spindle traces
cover NEAR MINT
original UK 1971 E. J. Day issue
only a few minor signs of handling and storage - almost no seam, edge, or circular wear - no splits, tears, writing, stickers, stamps, stains, scuffs or major creases - no dulling, fading or soiling - the eerie tinted photography by Keef displays rich, vibrant and as new colour - tight seams and nice corners - sharp opening edges - no circular wear to either the front or interior cover and only the slightest hint of this to the upper rear - typical prog inside gatefold layout is totally immaculate and as new with a cool monochromatic photo of these moody and intense hairies - great spine with clear and sharp lettering (see photos) - this fine cover is still almost like new, sharp and fresh - it would be hard to find a superior copy, one of the best and most intriguing of all by Keef and now among the harder to find UK progressive era albums - A VERY, VERY NICE EXAMPLE
god is the dog

half changed again
black sunshine
from the film of the same name
secrets reflected
another tree will grow
