IN OLD NEW YORK

  Sweet Adelines, Inc.

 1967 CONVENTION ALBUM

Ramapo Valley Chapter, Ramsey, New Jersey Hostesses, Directed by Renee Craig.

IN OLD NEW YORK, IN OLD NEW YORK…the harmony was grand! We came, we saw, we sang – and they knew it. To quote from a nationally syndicated columnist: “Members of Sweet Adelines, female vocal groups meeting in New York, break into song anywhere at the STAGE DELI, in hotel lobbies, on the street. They’re the nicest convention we’ve had in years. The nostalgia of historic Carnegie Hall lent an added air of elegance to the 21st International Quartet Competition and each of the 42 competitors gave the inspirational performance.

Emerging victorious in true Cinderella fashion were the captivating HURRICANE HONEYS from Miami, Florida, named 1967 QUEENS OF HARMONY in an impressive and colorful coronation ceremony. Here are the ten Finalists…truly representative of the quality of Sweet Adeline four-part harmony, barbershop style. Enjoy them, remember them, or dream with them…of New York, ’67, and YOU.
