IKE QUEBEC COLLECTION OF 180 GRAM 45rpm 2LP SETS ANDALL  RARE LOW NUMBERED 1ST EDITION PRESSING 119

Here's How it was done ON 45 SPEED VINYL:

Using only the original analog master tapes, cut all of the titles at AcousTech Mastering, which features a pure Class-A disc-cutting system. AcousTech is located at Record Technology, Inc. the plant where the vinyl was pressed. It is a tremendous sonic advantage to have the pressing plant plating department & mastering room in the same facility as Steve & Kevin could cut a lacquer and plated immediately. This prevents the degradation of the grooves in a lacquer which is very fragile to quick deterioration.

And of course cutting at 45 speed is the audiophile choice for the highes quality. A 45-RPM record is sonically superior to a 33 1/3 variety because of a 35 percent reduction of groove curvature compared to a 33 1/3 cut.. It means that while you can't fit as much music into a 45, the undukations of the groove that your cartridge has to track are stretched over a longer distance. For these reissues, the music was displaced onto four sides, meaning each side contains about 10 minutes of music.

This is the ultimate reissues. The only way you'll get closer to this classic music is to listen to the master tapes or have been in the studio with the artist originally during the actual session.

FACTORY SEALED LP - The nicest thing you can do for your stylus and ears. The ultimate record – the way music was meant to be heard.

The same formula that made the Fantasy 45 Series perhaps the most successful audiophile reissue collection ever is now being reapplied to Blue Note reissues!

Ike Quebec's timeless, big-toned tenor was a frequent visitor to Rudy Van Gelder's studio in the early sixties. IKE QUEBEC BOSSA NOVA SOUL SAMBA 180 GRAM AUDIOPHILE 45rpm 2LP SET LOW NUMBERED 119 OF THE 2500 PRESSINGS

Incredible Jazz Records + the original analog master tapes + cut at 45 RPM + mastered by Kevin Gray and Steve Hoffman at AcousTech + pressed on two 180-gram virgin vinyl LPs by RTI = THE ULTIMATE LP REISSUE!

The same formula that made the Fantasy 45 Series perhaps the most successful audiophile reissue collection ever is now being reapplied to Blue Note reissues!

Taking notice on what Stan Getz was doing over at Verve in 1962, Blue Note artist and executive Quebec brings it down a notch from his heavy tenor reputation, and tries his hand at the "samba/bassa nova" rage. Exercising his command of the tenor weaving expansive, romantic ballads, he is joined by Kenny Burrell on guitar, Wendell Marshall on bass, Willi Bobo on drums and Garvin Masseaux, chekere.

This program of sultry, minor key music with a Brazilian tinge seems to have inspired Ike Quebec, who was suffering from advanced cancer that would claim his life three months later. But here his big-toned, impassioned tenor is in tact. Quebec’s take on the bossa nova craze that exploded that year (1962) is more muscular than Stan Getz’s and doesn’t rely on the familiar Jobim and Gilberto songs of the day.

IKE QUEBEC IT MIGHT AS WELL BE SPRING 180 GRAM AUDIOPHILE 45rpm 2LP SET LOW NUMBERED 119 OF THE 2500 PRESSINGS

Two weeks after Ike Quebec recorded his comeback album Heavy Soul for Blue Note, he was back at the Van Gelder Studio with the same band (Freddie Roach, Milt Hinton and Al Harewood), making a second album. The confidence paid off because It Might As Well Be Spring is every bit the classic the first album proved to be.

Quebec's big-toned, vulnerable tenor playing is a thing to behold, as his heart-stopping version of the titled tune, "Lover Man" and "Willow Weep For Me" attest. "Easy - Don't Hurt" is one of his blues masterpieces.
