This is a UK 1st pressing of Raw Power which has been played in full from start to finish and is play-graded as Excellent (Ex) on both sides. However please note the following before deciding whether to buy this copy:

• The cover is in poor condition and has previously been sellotaped at the top and bottom seams and where this has been removed it has left residue from the adhesive and some surface damage, and the effects of this have been inked-over (see close up photos).

• The labels have writing on them (see close up photos).

• The picture inner is not original (read more below).

Description
Disc: The vinyl has retained its original sheen without much to see in normal light, although there are quite a lot of fine hairlines and other superficial marks when viewed under bright, direct light, but there is nothing with any major audio impact anywhere. I have played the whole record from start to finish and it sounded great with very little to report. There is some background noise in the run-ins/outs, fades and silent grooves and in a couple of quiet intros, but there is nothing intrusive anywhere. I heard some clicks in the fades to a few tracks (Side one: eight in the fade and silent groove at the end of 'Gimme Danger', but they stop before 'Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell' starts; two in the fade to that track, and one in the fade to 'Penetration'. Side two: a couple  of random clicks in 'I Need Somebody' and seven small clicks in the fade to that track which stop before 'Shake Appeal' starts). But that's all, and these are almost exclusively in fades and silent grooves - generally, the music on this copy sounds superb and play-grades around Excellent Plus (Ex+), but the small issues mentioned in the fades and silent grooves mean that I'm going to give this an overall play-grade of Excellent (Ex).  Please note that a visual grading for the vinyl would be a bit lower.

Labels: The labels have writing on them. (Please look at all the photos).

Sleeve: The flimsy sleeve has creases and wear and signs of age and handling. There is wear and tear at the opening and a sellotape repair to the spine. The top and bottom edges had previously been sellotaped too. Where this has been removed it has left residue and surface damage which has been inked-over to minimize its appearance. There are also other minor touch-ins etc. (Please look at all the photos).

Inner sleeve: The inner sleeve is not an original. It is from a re-issue and it has been made to look a bit like the original. It has creases, wear and a couple of seam splits but is otherwise presentable. Please note that the 'black' tones are far lighter than on the original inner sleeve (more grey than black).

Detracting features not covered above:  None. I have drawn attention to everything in the description and photographed everything significant, so please look at all the photos.

Where gradings are given these are based on the UK Record Collector grading system (see below) and are visual gradings only, unless the listing specifically states that it is a play-grading.

I use the UK RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM. This grading system differs from some other grading systems, in particular the Goldmine grading system. Please make sure that you are familiar with the UK record collector grading system before you bid.

Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packag­ing might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable sur­face marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for prop­erly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

Plus (+) or Minus (-) are added where items fall between gradings. I only ever use one plus or minus.
