Here's a real rarity. There's not even a complete commercial recording on CD of this opera. But here's a pristine copy on 3 LPs on the VOCE LABEL. It's a recording of a rare live performance of this opera given in Vienna on 27 September 1979. The cast includes Dunja Vejzovic as Fredegundis, Werner Hollweg as Landerich, Martin Edel as Chilperic, Reid Bunger as Duke Drakolen, and Olga Sandu as Rulla. The ORF Symphony Orchestra and Chorus are conducted by Ernst Marzendorfer. Included is a leaflet with background notes and a detailed synopsis of the plot. No libretto. This set has been in storage for over 20 years; I don't even have a turntable to play the records on anymore. Excellent condition. I don't think you'll find this listed very often. Grab it!Addendum: Although the record album titles this opera FREDEGUNDIS, I have discovered that the right spelling is FREDIGUNDIS. So I have revised the title.
