More Folk Blues-LP
Chess LP 1512-mono
1967 33 1/3 RPM LP release LP by Chicago Blues legend, Howlin' Wolf. This was the follow-up album to "Real Folk Blues", and though it was released in 1967, it does in fact offer an excellent slice of early Howlin' Wolf from the early to mid-1950's. Tracks are mostly obscure, mainly featuring the biting guitar of Willie Johnson on lead. Highlights include: Rocking Daddy, Just My Kind, and You Gonna Wreck My Life.

Copy at hand is an original first-press Chess LP, with the pastel blue & white label. It is also a far more desirable monaural copy. (The stereo copies of this LP were rechanneled with inferior sound.)
LP cover shows ringwear and edgewear on the front side. Back cover has some wear, a bit of soil, a small stain at left center edge, and a small pen doodle at top left. Cover grade is VG+.
Disc has frankly been handled quite carelessly, and does not look good visually. A side has a collection of many light to moderate marks. One could say the same of the B side-however it also has several very severe looking long scratches as well. Overall visual grade of the vinyl is no better than VG minus. The good news here is that we have play tested this LP and it plays a LOT better than it looks. LP plays with quite a bit of crackling throughout, but it does not have a constant high level of surface noise. Both sides actually play about the same with the music still sounding surprisingly clear.
