Description
Horace Silver - Finger Poppin' - Blue Note BLP 4008
First pressing from 1959 with the Ear/P and RVG etchings on deep grooved 47 West 63rd labels without the INC or R.
Cover is also the first edition with 47 West 63rd address on the back in a serif font and no INC.
Record condition: Poor Most of the record is VG with surface scuffs and plays with some light crackle, but unfortunately there are a couple of heavier scratches on the track 'You Happened My Way', and these cause my stylus to stick. Tried a few stylus tracking weights but same result. That puts the record at the lowest grade.
Cover condition: VG+ This is a really clean and crisp cover and would have been near mint but for a 4" central split on the top seam and a 2" central split on the bottom seam. Still displays very nicely with a beautiful laminated front, intact spine and clean back.
I'm only offering this due to the cover still being a very nice one, even with the splits, and maybe still an upgrade if you need a decent first press cover.
