Hopeton Lewis – ‘Everybody Rocking’ / ‘Stars Shining So Bright’ – Island WI-3076 (UK)
No introduction necessary. Absolutety superb rocksteady, 1967 vintage, from Hopeton Lewis backed by Lyn Taitt & The Comets. One of Hopeton’s finest sides but not included in his “Take It Easy” album. Not on any CD compilation that I know of, and only briefly available as a 2012 re-release from Dub Store in Japan.
For your consideration here is a UK original! Very, very rare! Absolutely magnificent copy; played no more than three or four times, centre intact. What can I say? If you had walked into a shop in London forty-seven years ago, this is what the record would have looked like. If you need this one, you will most likely never see one in this condition again!
