His Majesty King Bhumibol’s Composition-Narcing Aguilar/Various Artists-LP-1969 Sri Krung Thailand Coloured Vinyl issue-Phase 4 Stereo-SNS-5004

This is an incredibly rare 1969 vinyl LP album, recorded and released in tribute to Thailand’s most adored royal, the late great King Bhumibol Adulyadej, an admired jazz saxophonist/composer in his own right, who sadly passed away in October 2016.  A group of Thai/Filipino musicians gathered together in 1969 to record this tribute album to the King, and all works are composed by King Bhumibol.  Lead by Thai based accomplished Filipino musician Narcing Aguilar, considered to be one of Thailand’s best pianists, along with a host of other Filipino musicians (and one Thai musician – ‘Hon’), the album was recorded in Phase 4 Stereo and all contributing musicians are credited on the rear jacket, with notes by Ayumongol Sonakul.   Housed in a laminated jacket in excellent (minus) condition - light wear and bottom corner has been clipped.  The album has been signed by Narcing Aguilar as a tribute to several very happy fans, who have also signed the front & rear jacket.  The Vinyl disc is pressed on clear maroon coloured vinyl and is in VG+ condition – there are a couple of noticeable hairline scuffs and the occasional light scratch but exhibits no major loss of sound quality other than some light surface noise.  This album is surely a great tribute to Thailand’s late King Bhumibol Adulyadej – SNS-5004
