Description

This is the original deep-groove RVG-etched "P" pressing of Herbie Nichols The Prophetic, Volume 1 on the Lexington Avenue labels of Blue Note BLP 5068. Side 1 has a needle-drop that is lightly audible at the end of Track 2 (Step Tempest) into the beginning of Track 3 (Dance Line). Side 2 is nearly immaculate. Both sides have a high luster; perhaps played once or twice. The cover is bright and clean throughout; 1" split on the bottom seam, at the opening; number written in pencil at the top left corner of the back, ½" chip to the top left corner of the back slick; store name stamped at the top of the back slick. Personnel includes Al McKibbon and Art Blakey.
