Description
Just played on my Denon turntable.
I rate/price LPs on sound mostly - then cover, inserts, LP sleeve, etc. I care about the sound the most.
I'm listing my entire LP Collection, about 10 left (including Quad), as I record them. Look out for new listings.
Some very rare ones indeed!
Original 1974 US LP on COLUMBIA RECORDS HERBIE HANCOKC "Headhunters" CQ 32731 This is a QUADRAPHONIC pressing: SQ
TRACKS: Side 1:
1. Chameleon
2. Watermelon Man
Side 2:
3. Sly
4. Vein Melter
Here are my gradings:
NM, EX, VG+, VG and G for the LP itself, the cover and the Sleeve/any other things included with the LP.
I very rarely sell LPs that skip, but I will note this. Sealed albums are presumed to be in MINT (MN) condition.
NM - the LP/cover/sleeve looks/plays as though it is close to the first time or two.
EX - the LP may play fine, there's something in the looks/sound that drops it from NM.
VG+ - LP that looks/plays great, but may have small defects. It may have a pop here and there, background noise or the cover/sleeve may not look perfect.
VG - LPs will look/play great, but you’ll see more defects than a VG+. VG rated LPs may even look/play well enough to be graded VG+, but blemishes affect the grading.
G is where I consider the collectible value of the LP to be great enough that the copy is worth owning as a filler copy.
Vinyl: VG+ - Both sides. Cover: VG - A bit rough on the left side - see photos. LP Sleeve: Original LP sleeve EX, but shipped in a second sleeve. Notes on sound below:
Side #1: Some surface noise you can hear during quiet parts and in between tracks, maybe a slight pop now and then. Side #2: Same as Side #1 - surface noise is there - specially during the first minute of "Sly", but then only during quiet parts and in between tracks.
A great sounding LP, but for the slight surface noise during quiet portions. Play it loud!!! Like you need to be told that.....
Some hardware/software, or a better cleaning, may eliminate more of the noise.
LP has been cleaned and play tested. I pack carefully and ship in a new or used, but in good shape, LP mailer with the LP outside the original cover.
The LP plays through fine - NO SKIPS!
These results are on my equipment. You may or may not hear the same.
SHIPPED WITH INSURANCE.
I deal on multiple LPs - contact me.
I also combine shipping - $2 additional per LP, in addition to the highest shipping in the group.
