Help! by the Beatles.
Extremely rare 1966 German press on Odeon to the best of my knowledge.
SMO 84008
SHZE 162 A1/SHZE 163 B1
Firstly, the record:
Visually very nice. Only a couple of light marks on either side but nothing deep or upsetting. The labels have a little spindle wear & initials on them but are really pretty nice otherwise. I've personally always found these copies very easy on the eye.
I have play tested this record (no *visual testing only* nonsense) & it sounds great. It's upfront & bright just like the heavyweight sixties stereo pressings should be. The run ins are pretty quiet & there's really not much deterioration in sound at all except I noticed a few pops on track B1.
Secondly, the sleeve:
Generally of a decent standard. Clean & unmarked but showing some edge wear.. Generally showing slight age but the pictures tell a thousand words.
I think the inner EMI sleeve is original period & it's in great unmolested condition.
Further notes:
Track A6 listed rather gruesomely on the label as Your'e Going to Lose That Girl. Call the grammar police!
In summary- a well looked after copy of a rare collectable at a good starting price. Not a museum piece but really pretty pleasing.
