Merrill at Midnight is the fourth album by Helen Merrill, featuring Merrill fronting a quartet augmented by a string section arranged and conducted by Hal Mooney, recorded in 1957 and released on the EmArcy label.
The Allmusic review by Bruce Eder stated "this one's a keeper and in a class by itself, with lots and lots of class". (FIVE STARS OUT OF 5)

Vinyl Visual Condition:  EX+ to Near Mint  Has excellent sheen.  After grading under harsh light, I have to say I see no mark of any kind.  This is the first time I have ever seen a 60 yr. old record this clean.   It has been test played and there are no problems.  There is a very small amount of dust noise beneath the music in spots. Nothing that is distracting from the fidelity.  

Cover & Label Condition:  The cover is EX with a narrow 1" light stain on the back cover, midway left side, moderate corner and seam wear, no splits, writing or any other problems.  Label is Near Mint with very, very little spindle hole wear, as new. With, of course,  the original 1957 Emarcy artwork.  

RECORD GRADES: SEALED, NM, EXC, VG+, VG, VG-, G, FAIR, POOR.I grade strictly under bright light. My highest grade for an unsealed record is NM (NEAR MINT) - a record must look like new to be graded NM! An EXC record will show only slight signs of prior play. A VG+ is a solid used record that should play well but has minor visual flaws. A VG has more obvious flaws BUT is not trashed. Records graded VG- or worse will often play much better than they look.
