Description
There comes a time in every mans life when he must finally shed the weight of vinyl hanging around his neck!. So here goes – all these records were personally bought by me – mostly at the time. All have been played to confirm the sound quality.
I have used the Record Collector grading system throughout for both vinyl and cover/extras with notes where appropriate.
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
This record is the very rare Heavy Petting, by Dr Strangely Strange released in 1970 on Vertigo number 6360 009 – its definitely an original copy, I bought it in the early 70’s

It’s the fold out cover designed to free stand and is in excellent, excellent condition, because it is such a fragile cover its been in a cellophane cover since I got it. The only defect is a small patch of staining where a piece of sellotape once was (see close up). Its’ got the original swirl inner sleeve (see pictures).
The vinyl is also in excellent condition, with the occasional crackle or pop but no significant defects.
As the last copy of this record just sold for a massive sum of money - I've been back and doubled checked the vinyl. There are two clear pops on side two - one at 3 minutes 26 seconds on "Gave My Love An Apple" and another at 13 minutes 27seconds on "Ashling"where, in both cases, part of a word is lost behind the pop. Other than that - as described excellent with occasional crackles.
All in all it’s a top, top copy of this rare piece of hippy era music
