I recently acquired the inventory of a defunct record store that had been active from 1960-2006.  I found a box containing some United Record test pressings.  All were 1970's country music, except this soul classic by the Patterson Twins.

This is a one-sided test pressing, flip side is blank.  Dead wax etched "CDC-00042A" and "JL MI-S" on the recorded side.  As you can see by the label photo, "00042" is written on the label.

Vinyl Grade (see my grading scale below): The vinyl is Near Mint.  I have played it twice, once to figure out what it was and once to record the attached clip.  The record does have a slight wave to it, but as you can hear, it does not affect the play.  I included a photo of the wave.

Please note that I've listened to thousands of records and there may be a certain degree of surface noise regardless of the condition. 

Mint:  Looks unplayed or still sealed.  Rarely use this grading.

NM:  Clean, shiny.  May be a few very light marks.

VG++: Better than VG+, but not quite NM.

VG+:  May show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches. 

VG:  Still a good record and plays OK.  May be starting to lack gloss and noticeable noise in softer passages.  May have a scuff or scratch that can be felt with finger.      

VG- (VG minus):  Has scratches, scuffs or wear that causes some surface noise.  

G: Scratchy.

P (Poor):  Collection Filler.  Any 45's listed less than G will only be listed to fill a collection.  Will do my best to describe.
