The Velvets featuring Virgil Johnson – “Let the Fool Kiss You” b/w “If” (Monument 861).Good fall of 1964 release by the Texas Doo-wop group that were formed in 1960 in Texas by Virgil Johnson, a teacher of eighth grade English at Blackshear Junior High School in Odessa, Texas Johnson heard some of his students harmonizing: Clarence Rigsby (tenor), Robert Thursby (tenor), William Solomon (baritone) and Mark Prince (bass) and they introduced and signed to Monument by fellow Texan rock n' roller Roy Orbison. “Let the Fool Kiss You is a strong doowop / Northern Soul cut. Take a listen. Record is in VG condition
