Description
ARTIST: Headband
TITLE : Country Lady / Stay With Me
FORMAT: 7" 45rpm original VINYL record - Made only in Australia.
DESCRIPTION:
Here is the mega-rare ( even more-so than the LP ) original Australian only pressed 3rd single from 70's Adelaide pysch / prog rock outfit Headband.
This scarcely seen 45 was lifted from their super collectable and only album 'A Song For Tooley'. The A-Side is a country / pop effort that is typical of the different styles of rock found on their album.
The B-Side here ('Stay With Me' ) however is something really special. From the moment the wailing fuzz-guitar intro filters through the speakers you can't help but think 'wow' as the early Judas Priest type vocals supported by a hard-driven bass line click into gear. Wailing guitar solos weave magic throughout this rock classic as it builds towards a crescendo finish…simply awesome and certainly one of the better pysch / prog / rock songs from that era.
It was released in 1973 on the Polydor (Australia ) label ( Cat. No.# 2079 017 ) as per photo below.
CONDITION:
VINYL :
This copy is heaps better than you would expect.. Glossy throughout, a few faint marks however these are light and surface only. The vinyl is pretty thick and tracks through brilliantly without hiss or clicks. Rated a super VG++ and will not disappoint.
JACKET: This was released long before picture sleeves were introduced in Australia. The original company bag is Excellent.
LABEL:- 'June 1973' is penned in on the A-Side label but no big deal. Otherwise clean.
