Ha'pennys Love is Not The Same - Garage Band LP 1966 Framingham MA

Hello record collectors and vinyl junkies, I'm in the process of selling off the majority of my record collection to finance the ongoing restoration of a classic car...hopefully without going bankrupt! So please check back often, as I'll be listing hundreds of LPs over the next few months.

Anyway, let's continue with this one by The Ha'pennys Love Is Not The Same released by Fersch Records in 1966 (FL 1110 Monophonic) Original maroon label with silver print.

This is a very hard to find garage band LP issued by the band in a pressing (approximately 500 copies pressed)

The Ha'pennys hailed from Framingham, Mass and consisted of vocals: Mike Krinsky, John Lower, John Cotton. Guitars: John Lower, Don Ross. Bass: John Cotton. Organ: Mike Krinsky, John Lower, Don Ross. Drums: Amos Galpin. Harmonica: John Cotton, Tambourine: Mike Krinsky, Amos Galpin. The LP was recorded at Continental Recording Studios in Framingham, Mass, engineered by John Flynn and produced by Ellsworth Alfred Fersch, Jr. - arranged by the Ha'pennys.

The LP consists of eleven tracks including their original "Love Is Not The Same" and ten covers by the Beatles, Stones, Yardbirds, Animals, Them, McCoys and the Byrds.

From the liner notes:

Puffs of smoke in the darkness when light was shone thru, the thing was goin' and three blackband groovies were cuttin' edison did it. And it was far away from roller skates and the girl in green slid herself off the black boot and returned as the chef to mess around. The faces were the newly same, just the name had changes...Everyone looked around like it wasn't real, but it was and you dinn't need to say scrufty (but everybody said it) - then time skipped away with us havin' lots to do and feelin' fate was foolin' around (what with voices and all) an' we said don't move we'll be back. 7 a.m. and it's dark when there's no light even snow doesn't light it up, and it's time to finish or bust. Little on the mastering and lay out what you want an' one says it must be like a stone (cause they sneak a likeness) it takes an awful lot to get through with eight more (that's eleven) even though the recorder says no near was too far. An they were on it when they said love is not the same, but you can still try an' find it for five Ha'pennys

Both LP and Cover are in fair to good condition. The LP has a few deep scratches that cause some pops, clicks surface noise and possible skips. I played this LP on both of my turntables and on one turntable it played all the way through without skipping, but on the other there were a couple of skips on the first ttrack side two (We Gotta Get Out Of This Place) On both turntables there was surface noise throughout most of the LP.

The cover has something spilled on it at some point, as there is staining along the right and bottom edges. There is some paper loss on the bottom edge, a chip out of the right edge and the lower left corner. (shown in close up photos above. Otherwise, the cover has no cut out marks or writing. 

I grade on a stricter scale than Goldmine (at least the watered down version that seems to exist here on eBay) I will take the time to describe any flaws on both the cover and record itself rather than give a letter grade that will mean something different to seemingly every record buyer and seller.

I am a very picky record collector and have been let down many times buying a record that was graded VG++ or NM here on eBay and other mail order services that were pretty beat up...and I'm sure that has happened to you too!

I'm sorry I couldn't offer this one in better condition, but it is extremely rare (the only copy I've ever come across) and it would be a good play copy...besides, you may never find another copy offered for sale!

Due to overwhelming requests, I generally ship domestic packages by Media Mail. However, please keep in mind that while Media Mail ihis the cheapest shipping method, it is also the slowest. Media Mail can take one month or MORE to arrive. Media Mail shipping within the United States is $4.00 including mandatory Delivery Confirmation.

I do combine shipping for multiple purchases. The $4.00 covers between one and two albums. Additional albums (three and up) are an additional .25 cents each. Please wait for an invoice from me as the Paypal system does not calculate the combined shipping.

Overseas shipping is by Air Mail only. Shipping for one LP to Canada is $7.00 and everywhere else in the world is $14.00. Overseas shipping is by regular air mail and can take anywhere from one to four weeks to arrive. I do combine shipping on overseas purchases - I will send an invoice with the combined shipping cost if you purchase more than one LP.

Sorry I no longer ship to Italy or the Russian Federation due to the high number of "lost" packages.

All records are mailed in cardboard record mailers with cardboard inserts to prevent damage. LP will be removed from the cover to prevent seam splits while in transit.
