Description

"Hans Is Hip" by the Hans Koller Quartet, purportedly the first German "modern jazz" group to issue an LP. Koller is described as being reminiscnet of Stan Getz. Band includes Koller on tenor sax, Jutta Hipp, piano; Franz "Shorty" Roder, bass; and Karl Sanner, drums. Titles are Jutta Is Hipp, I Cover the Waterfront, Stomping at the Savoy, Hans Is Hip, Beat, Up from Munich, Melancholy Baby, and All the Things You Are. Issued in 1954. Green label Discovery LP DL-2005. Condition is Near Mint - virtually unplayed. Jacked in excellent shape. Minor wear at corners and some fading on the black background on the cover.
