Here's a rare and unique opportunity for country music fans in general, and fans of Hank Williams, Jr. in particular. This show was recorded and aired just over 40 years ago!!! The Silver Eagle Cross Country Music Show was a weekly program aired on country stations across the USA, featuring a different guest each week, recorded in concert. During the week of May 26th, 1984, the guest was Hank Williams, Jr.!!! ( I believe the show was recorded in mid April 1984.) The show was sent on vinyl to stations for broadcast...this show runs just over 90 minutes (including commercials, which are pressed directly on the discs), and is contained on 5 sides of 3 discs. The opening act was the late Merle Kilgore, who was Hank's manager for many years. The original cue sheets are included, so you can see the songs performed. The show was played only twice 40 years ago, and in safe, smoke-free storage since. Then spot checked and cleaned for this auction; it is in very good condition, with no skips. There is a bit of surface noise during the quiet parts where Hank is talking to the audience, but being a live recording, it is not noticeable otherwise. If you're a fan of Hank's music, don't miss this chance to add these records to your collection...very few were made, and most stations destroyed them after broadcast. How many survive??? Unknown... but this will be something very few people can call their own. Free shipping via media mail.
