This album is an extremely rare Blue Note 1st US mono pressing! RVG stamped and Plastylite P (ear) in deadwax. Deep groove, 47 West 63rd. NYC labels. Also original cover with ' 43 West 61st St., New York 23' address. 

A perfectly listenable and enjoyable copy of this classic title.

This record has been play graded on a Project Debut Carbon Esprit SB turntable with an Ortofon 2m Blue cartridge.

Play graded in mono.

Vinyl: G+ Many hairlines/paper scuffs and some light scratches. It looks very well worn but plays through loud and clear with no distortion or skipping. Surface noise is constant and noticeable throughout but certainly not too overpowering. There are many clicks but again, not all too noticeable in the most part. Sound ranges from G-VG. Generally, the quieter passages are closer to G and louder ones closer to VG. I have personally played this record through twice to make sure I am as accurate as i can be with this grading.

Cover: F+ Original cover with '43 West 61st St., New York 23'. Corners and edges worn. Major issue is two seam splits that run from opening edge, both 3". Also minor splits by other corners due to rubbing wear. Few light creases along spine. Back cover is dirty/discoloured. Spine is fully readable. Still all in one piece.

Inner sleeve: G+ White die cut inner. Possibly original? Some light creasing and discolouration. Tiny (under 1") seam split to bottom edge.

Labels: Minor discolouration. Side 2 label does have some wear or the right hand side where the blue ink has been 'smudged'.

Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
