HANK MOBLEY Hi Voltage Blue Note BST 84273
Up for auction is a (1970) Liberty Blue Note Stereo (West Coast) pressing of Hank Mobley's dynamite 1967 bop session, "Hi Voltage". Fantastic music from a sextet including Mobley, Jackie McLean and Blue Mitchell. Great late bop session from a bop master.
DEAD WAX INFO: Side 1 has BNST-84273-A etched into the dead wax. Side 2 has BNST-84273-B etched into the dead wax. Both sides have VAN GELDER stamped into the dead wax. 1970 Liberty West Coast Stereo pressing.
VINYL VISUAL: VG+ with very minor mottling from paper storage, and a few handling marks. Labels show no spindle marks. Rarely played for sure. Could probably use a cleaning.
VINYL PLAY GRADE: VG+ and much better with very little noise on lead-ins and between tracks. Probably one of the better listens out there of this particular pressing. A very loud cut indeed. Maybe clean before playing.
COVER VISUAL: VG+ at best with full shrink but some minor wear and some water damage front right corner (rear left).
COMES WITH non-original(?) die-cut paper inner.

Play grade is done on a Thorens TD 165 through Yamaha amplification and JBL reference headphones (treble set high so there will be no surprises when you get the item).
ALL ITEMS WILL BE SHIPPED WITH PROPER MAILERS AND EXTRA PADDING, PARTICULARLY AT THE CORNERS. I HAVE MADE FAR TOO MANY PURCHASES ON EBAY WHERE THE ITEM HAS ARRIVED WITH DINGED CORNERS DUE TO INADEQUATE PACKAGING MATERIAL. BY USING FOLDED BUBBLE WRAP IN ALL FOUR CORNERS, YOU CAN BE ASSURED OF AN ITEM WITHOUT DINGED CORNERS (OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND FOR THAT MATTER). Non-tracked shipping throughout the U.S.A will be $13 CANADIAN per item, as will tracked shipping within Canada. Tracked shipping to the U.S.A. will be $16 CANADIAN for items under 500g, and slightly more for items over 500g. Most single sleeve items can be shipped as under 500g. Gatefolds and multi-sets will be over 500g.
Being a reasonable person, I will be absorbing ALL of the shipping material cost, and some of the actual postage cost.

I do offer full refunds (excluding cost to get it back to me), on any item that is not satisfactory. SINCE SHIPPING OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE (Thank You Canada Post), I will rarely list gatefolds or multi-items for sale overseas. IF ANYONE OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS CRAZY INTERESTED IN ANY ITEM, I WILL QUOTE SHIPPING ON REQUEST. Since a lot of the stuff that I will be selling is of higher end quality, rarely will things be offered overseas. Sorry folks. Again, I can consider requests on an item-by-item basis.
