Description
Hank Jones Urbanity Clef 707 mono black and silver label
Hank Jones (p) solo and with Johnny Smith (g), Ray Brown (b) Recorded 1947, 1953
Black and silver label and deep groove both sides. Catalog number "A/B" in the runouts No address on back cover. Cover is one of the all time classic David Stone Martin images.
Record looks VG++ to M- and plays strong VG+. Most of the record plays VG++ with light surface noise due to pressing quality. Clef lps are known for less than top vinyl quality and for playing below visual grade. Music plays strong without distortion. No scratches but some very small light "paper" scuffs. Vinyl is bright and glossy and grooves are not gray or worn. The record looks unplayed or nearly so.
Cover is VG+.
Front cover looks nice. It's bright and glossy and shows light wear. The DSM drawing looks great showing a little wear at the top of the lady's legs. Back cover has overall moderate wear and some writing and a stamp at the top. Top and bottom seams are not split but have some heavy wear. Spine is split and untaped from top to bottom. The print is still all there.
I WILL BE RUNNING WEEKLY AUCTIONS OF 50s and 60s JAZZ LPS INC. BLUE NOTE 1500s PRESTIGE NYCs TRANSITIONS ETC. MANY WEEKS AND SOME HIGH END ITEMS TO COME.
My highest grade is M- and I rarely grade 50s or 60s records M-. Records are graded visually using the Goldmine system. M-, VG++, VG+, VG, VG- etc. I play grade any potential problem areas. I attempt to grade conservatively, listing all significant flaws. You will be satisfied. No hassles.
