Description
From circa 1979 (or 1980?) here is the Ultimate OINGO BOINGO Collector's Item: This is the Original Private press OINGO BOINGO 10-inch vinyl DEMO EP - Hand spray painted, stenciled and numbered. Recorded and pressed by DANNY ELFMAN and other band members, for distribution to record labels, promoters and radio stations in hopes of getting signed to a record contract.
This Demo's pressing run consisted of only 130 copies (the vast majority of which have since been either lost or destroyed); this is copy #91, according to the notation on the back. The front cover is an original, unique work of art (spray painted background & stenciled lettering) and the back cover is stamped "Educational Material, Not For Sale !", as shown. Original lyric sheet included.
The OINGO BOINGO DEMO EP contains 4 tracks: "AIN'T THIS THE LIFE" (3:35) and "ONLY A LAD" (4:18) on Side One; "FORBIDDEN ZONE" (3:59) and "I'M SO BAD" (3:56) on Side Two.
CONDITION: Cover is in VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+) condition due to its hand made nature, taped edge on lower front cover is separating, light wear from age, no seam splits, clean corners and no creasing. Vinyl plays great and is in EXCELLENT (EX) condition. Insert is in VG+ condition with light wear and a few folds. Labels are clean. Please see detailed pictures for actual condition. It has been play tested.
