A vital time capsule of arguably the most important year in the history of psych-tinged alt-punk trio Husker Du, 1985: The Miracle Year was recorded at the First Avenue Club in the band's hometown of Minneapolis on 28th August 1985, only two weeks on from the release of their iconic fourth album New Day Rising. Boasting a set that includes several cuts from preceding records Everything Falls Apart and Zen Arcade, while also previewing five (at the time) new songs which would later appear on Flip Your Wig; the setlist offers true testament to their endlessly prolific nature. Not to mention the batch of head-melting covers and renditions of The Byrds' 'Eight Miles High,' The Beatles' 'Helter Skelter' (featuring Soul Asylum's Dave Pirner), and 'Ticket To Ride', while reliably closing with their signature cover of Sonny Curtis's Mary Tyler Moore theme 'Love Is All Around.' Complete with an additional 20 live tracks captured across the year's hectic touring schedule, as well as a 36-page booklet detailing just why 1985 was the Du's miracle year.
