No doubt, one of the best garage bands out of Quebec in the 60's , along with the Haunted, Rabble, Lutins and Sinners.
(Featured in both Hans Pokora's "Record Collector Dreams" and Vernon Joynson's "Dreams Fantasies & Nightmares" )
"Off" was the Hou-Lops 3rd long play, and their only LP recorded entirely in English.
Great solid mix of covers and originals with lots of killer fuzz guitar, organ, snarky vocals and trippy echo effects.
Gilles Rousseau (vocals), Yvan Côté (lead guitar), Claude Domingue (guitar), Jaycee Brassard (bass) and Claude Laviolette (drums) started out as an all-instrumental group (à la Ventures), but quickly developed into a solid UK-like rhythm & blues, freak-beat and psych band (touring with both the Stones and the Animals in the mid 60's).
