Hot Poop were a band from Isla Vista, California, formed in the early 70's. Their only one recording was released in 1971.
The music on Does Their Own Stuff! is similar to many of the crazier, avant-leaning rock acts popular at the time, but Hot Poop sound more lo-fi, scrappier and much sillier. There's also an odd, 1950's-style rock n' roll vibe running through these songs, which have titles like "My Baby's Dead," "Wing Wang" and "Dance To The War."
THIS IS A GREAT LP. IT`S EXCELLENT FOLKY - GARAGE - PSYCH - ROCK. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for fans of Capt. Beefheart, Commander Cody, The Jefferson Airplane, Oliver, Josefus, Plastic Cloud, Twink, Pink Floyd, Syd Barrett, Dr. Hooker, Joe Peace, Mystrey Meat, Lincoln Street Exit, Dungen, Forever Amber, Mary Butterworth,Trad Gras, Parson Sound, Cream, Electric Flag, Big Brother & the Holding Co,Velvet Underground, Mothers of Invention.
ONLY 500 WERE MADE. THEY WERE MOSTLY GIVEN AWAY TO CLOSE FRIENDS AND SOME SOLD AT A VERY FEW GIGS THEY GOT. BECAUSE OF THE FAR OUT THERE COVER , EVEN LOCAL RECORD STORES DIDN`T WANT TO SELL THE LP.
Memorable album cover! If you've ever seen the cover of Hot Poop's one and only release Does Their Own Stuff!, I doubt you've erased it from your frontal lobe. Released in 1971 makes it twice as not-forgettable. In a grainy black & white photograph (which has all the composition and exposure of a police murder scene crime photo) a man takes a dump onto a plate while another hands more plates to a group of hippies passed out on a pile of old junk. They appear to be using syringes to inject the man's shit into their veins (one is passed out, or dead). This is all happening in some abandoned-looking barn-type space (Spahn Ranch?) On the back cover, the top half features the same five people standing in a field with some donkeys. The lower half shows them opening their coats to reveal their nude bodies, with the male and female genitals switched on each person.

LP condition GRADING system:
M (MINT) : Sealed, never opened or played, new in original package.
NM (NEAR MINT) : Near perfect copy, played only a few times. At worst it may have one or two insignificant flaws. This is the highest grade I give for a non-sealed (used) record.
EX (EXCELLENT) : Clean copy, slight surface marks/hairlines, cover has minor defaults.
VG++ (VERY GOOD++) : More surface marks, minor flaws, or cover wear, minor edge wear (cover). Nothing serious but is not graded EX because of few minor defaults
VG+ (VERY GOOD +) : Played a lot, will show signs of handling, has marks, possibly few light scratches but no jumps or sticks. Cover wear (light ring wear, heavier corner or edge wear on cover)
VG (VERY GOOD) : Used record, played a lot, has marks, few scratches, some crackling while playing and but no jumps or sticks. Still quite listenable. Cover may have heavy corner, edge wear or split seams
G (GOOD) : Played a lot and more (but still playable), lot of scratches, crackles a lot while playing, may have jump or sticks and cover is damaged...so not so good ! This record must be very rare to be proposed in this state !!!
