Åke Hodell is well-known as a radical, renewing poet and dramatist. Since the end of the 1960s
he has made text-sound-compositions in which voices and cocrete sounds have been
combined and treated in an electronic music studio. "Spirit Of Ecstasy", comissioned by the
Swedish Radio, was written 1977. Using the history of the car, he tells of the most important events in the history
of the 20th century. "The Way To Nepal", confronts us with a partly new phase in Hodell´s creation.
Here he delibeately works with sounds - both recognizable and transformed - and a dramatic process
changing from lyrical meditation to brutal tonal shocks. The composition provides a vision of a prmeval state
in which animals and humans live in harmony with nature. Thereafter follow different stages of disintengration.
