Original His Master’s Voice (HMV) early South African African Series double-sided shellac picture disc, dating to the early 1930s.

Material: Shellac with laminated colour artwork
Size: approx. 10 inch
This is a genuine early picture disc, with full colour artwork on both sides — not vinyl, not a later novelty pressing. These were produced using an early laminated process that was short-lived and expensive, making surviving examples scarce.
Condition:
Age-related warping present (typical for shellac of this era)
Minor lamination rippling near the centre hole
No cracks, no lifting or flaking to the artwork
Colours remain strong and vibrant
Labels clear and legible
Sold as a collectible / display piece.
Not play-tested due to age and warping.
A striking and historically important piece of early recorded African music and design.
