Hello, and thank you for viewing my first listings as a new seller on Ebay. I've moved recently and I am downsizing my record collection to fit my new surroundings.
I've been adding to my collection since the advent of CD's and have quite a variety, from Classical to Rock. There will be some Audiophile/half speed pressings, maybe a bit of Jazz, some Blues and Folk and just plain oddities.
Over the next few months (or years - it's a slow process trying to decide what to part with and then getting them ready) I will be listing the ones that I don't think I'll listen to on a regular basis.
My records have all been cleaned with a Nitty Gritty Record Cleaning Machine using RRL or Nitty Gritty Record Cleaning Solution, and inserted into a nice new clean sleeve.

I will try to describe any flaws to the best of my ability, but if you would like more information, please let me know.  I will be sure to answer all inquires within 24 hours, but I'm not at the computer all the time.

Just a few notes on how I grade records.

I have some difficulties with the Goldmine standard in that to my interpretation Mint and NM sound like pretty much the same thing and the VG+ category is far too broad.

For instance the first line of the Goldmine NM grade states "A nearly perfect record" I could take that too mean that one isolated area of light scuffing would qualify as NM. Then farther on in the grading description it says "Basically, an LP in NM condition looks as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed the shrink wrap." That sounds more like Mint to me.

Seems to me there are 2 ways I could solve this dilemma.

1. I could ignore the second statement and categorize a record with a couple light scuffs as "nearly perfect" and therefore NM.

2. Narrow down the VG+ category by adding another plus for those albums that have only the slightest bit of scuffing. The ones that I'd like to call NM. 

I have chosen to go the second route. I know some of you will cringe at the extra plus added to the VG+ grading, but I hope my logic above makes sense to you. I am not looking to deceive, but only to find an honest way to distinguish between a record with just a couple flaws and one that has more flaws but where in all cases the flaws are light enough that the record does not fall into VG territory which according to Goldmine includes loss of original lustre, groove damage and scratches that can be felt. EWWWWwww   

So, to summarize: I don't get many NM records. The slightest  flaw will knock the grading down to VG++. A VG+ record will have MORE visible defects than a VG++, but the flaws will all be light scuffs or hairline surface scratches that should not affect play. VG++ or VG+ records will ALL have the original sheen and flaws are not visible under normal lighting.

I will play grade as many albums as I can, but the visual grading is what will be listed. Play grading descriptions if applicable will be found with the vinyl description. I find it's not uncommon for a VG+ record to play NM, but I will list as VG+ because I cannot guarantee that I will be able to play grade all albums.

Bottom line, If you purchase a record from me and you feel I have gone wrong on the grading, and you are not happy with the record, please let me know and we will arrange for a refund. 

All records are graded visually and viewed at different angles under bright light before listing. 

Some records are play graded and I will include play grading information with the vinyl description.
If I list anything that is graded visually as  VG  I will always play grade before listing.

My Grading Standards

Mint: A brand new, SEALED record, never played.

 Near Mint (NM): An unsealed record that looks as good as new. I don't get many of these. Some are very close but sure enough when I get the right angle... there it is that little flaw or scuff that knocks it down to a VG++

Very Good Plus Plus (VG++): Records may show one or two areas of light scuffing, or very light hairline scratches that should not affect play. Record will have original sheen and defects are not visible under normal room lighting. The record may have minor signs of handling such as telltale marks around the center hole, but repeated playing has not misshapen the hole.
VG++ covers will be clean and solid with only a couple minor defects such as very light wear or rubbing on the seams and/or spine and/or very light ringwear. Cover defects will be described in the listing and if possible shown in photos. 

Very Good PLUS (VG+): Same as VG++ but there will be more areas of light scuffing and surface marks that should not affect play. Record will have original sheen and defects are not visible under normal room lighting.
VG+ covers are clean and solid but seam and ringwear will be more pronounced and there may be a small seam split or some creasing. VG+ covers might also have labels or slight label residue. Cover defects will be described in the listing and if possible shown in the photos 

Very Good (VG):  records have more obvious flaws, and damage can probably be seen without having search for it at different angles under bright lights.The original gloss is fading. Groove wear may be evident there may be light scratches deep enough to feel with a fingernail. When played, a VG record has surface noise, and some scratches may be audible. If I offer a VG record for sale, it will ALWAYS be play graded first and my findings will be noted in the vinyl description.
VG covers will have obvious signs of handling and seamwear, ringwear and creasing singly or combined will be very pronounced. There might be long seam splits and damage to the cover overlay caused by label removal or writing. Cover defects will be described in the listing and if possible shown in the photos.
