HIGH MOUNTAIN HOEDOWN "HIGH MOUNTAIN HOEDOWN" ACTO SD 33-320 1970
Formed by Texas native Jerry Lynn Williams, who was a talented singer/songwriter/gurtarist, who's songs were covered by E. Clapton, BB King, Dave Mason, Taj Mahal among others. Recording this sole album which was totally neglected when released, but now has been showing up on many want lists. Six out of ten originals with interestingly two covers of Chuck Berry, "Nadine" and "Brown Eyed Hansome Man" and a cool fuzzed out version of Leadbetter's "Good Night Irene". Catagorized as 'Rural Rock' the trio easily slips from sweet ballads "Pickin' Berries" to rockers like "Song # 8" to sweet harmony vocals of "Nellie", while "Voodoo Woman" sounds like neo swamp rock similar to CCR. Well produced by Charles Greene who worked with Buffalo Springfield. A near excellent album , and a fine tribute to the late Jerry Williams.
RECORD: VG++ High Gloss, no spindle wear,a smudge here and there Very nice
COVER: Strong VG+ Very nice condition exceptfor a little ink scribble on back cover, lite surface wear, darkened coloring but...No ring wear, seam splits, stains, stickers or other damage
