Description

A great opportunity to buy a copy of a DOUBLE VINYL LP from the 1970’s by Heron called "Twice As Nice & Half The Price".

The group Heron were formed in 1968 by Roy Apps and Tony Pook and along with Steve Jones and Gerald Moore recorded this album, which was their second LP. Heron are a folk-based band with tinges of pop and soul.

This is a U.K. pressing released in 1971 on the Pye subsidiary label Dawn (DNLS 3025) (stereo); it has a total of 21 tracks (see photos for track listing).

The records are in a beautiful MINT condition. I always grade and examine records under a bright table lamp and there is nothing to indicate the records have ever been played. I have only played selected tracks and they play superbly.

The labels are completely clean and free from any writing, marks or major defects.

The records are perfectly flat and have no warps of any description.

The matrix numbers are: - DNLS 3025 A-2 G (side one), DNLS 3025 B-2 G (side two), DNLS 3025 C-2 G (side three) and DNLS 3025 D-3 G (side four).

The records are housed in their original poly-lined inner sleeves in EXCELLENT condition, though fading a little with age.

Included with this record is a POSTCARD insert depicting the tracks and personnel involved in the recording (see photos of both sides of the postcard). This is in an EXCELLENT condition.

The laminated picture cover is in an EXCELLENT condition. Although it is a double LP, it is not a gatefold cover. The edges and spine are very strong and the text on the spine is clearly readable (see photos). There is just a thin layer of old cellotape along two of the edges, but I feel this was mainly applied as a protective measure. There is a faint hint of ring-wear on the top of the back cover, where there is also a light scratch mark, but nothing too serious. The opening edge has no noticeable wear. The front cover has an original price sticker still attached and I will leave this for the winning bidder to remove if they so wish.

Overall an exceptional example of this highly collectable 40 year old record and cover.

There is no reserve on this item so please feel free to bid, but winning bidders - please pay promptly and preferably as soon after the auction has ended as possible. Payment by PayPal is the only option on this item.
