HERBIE HANCOCK My Point of View BLUE NOTE BST-84126 LIBERTY VAN GELDER LP VG+
This is a late 60s stereo reissue of Herbie's sophomore album led for Blue Note originally released in 1963. This is a Liberty pressing on the Division of Liberty white and blue label used from '66-'70 with Van Gelder stamp in the runout. In addition to Herbie on piano, the amazing lineup includes Donald Byrd (tp), Grachan Moncur III (tb), Hank Mobley (ts), Grant Green (g), Chuck Israels (b), Tony Williams (d). Doesn't get much better than this for a 60s Blue Note post-bop session with a foot in the avant-garde. This is a very clean copy and like all RVG-stamped pressings it sounds fabulous.
Cover: strong VG+, very clean all around, price sticker on upper right, slight ring wear visible at bottom
Record: VG+ or stronger. Very minor scuffs, plenty of shine, sounds excellent throughout.
Grading: I follow Goldmine grading scale visually, but I also play-test every record I list. All records are from my personal collection and have been taking care of meticulously. Every record comes in a protective poly sleeve.
