[EMIDISC, UK TEST PRESSING!]
HOLY GRAIL TIME! Here you have the original UK 12" acetate test pressing of the legendary "Head" LP by the Jackie Lomax led group Heavy Jelly. This LP was recorded in 1970 but never recieved an official release and was at the time of recording only distributed as promo-only acetates/test pressings. I don't know exactly how many of these acetates that were made, but it can't have been many. I have never seen another copy for sale. Ridiculously hard to find!
All tunes are written by Jackie Lomax and are great. The soundclip below features 1,5 minutes of EACH song on the album. Have a listen!
Heavy Jelly consisted of Jackie Lomax (vocals, guitar, piano), Alex Dmochowski (bass), Barry Jenkins (drums) and John Morshead (guitar, vocals) with help on some of the tracks by Badfinger members Pete Ham and Tom Evans as well as from Bobby Keys and Jim Price.
This acetate comes in a plain white die-cut sleeve with "Heavy Jelly" handwritten on the front. The record plays with FANTASTIC clear fidelity.
Sleeve condition: VG+ (5cm tear in upper right corner, 2cm right side seam split)
Vinyl condition: EX- (a-side) / EX (b-side) (a-side has got two very light scrathces, but they do NOT in any way affect play, the entire LP plays fantastic, listen!)
