HEARTS AND FLOWERS "OF HORSES AND FORGOTTEN WOMEN" CAPTIOL 2868 1968
Late sixties folk rock band from Los Angeles which included a pre-Eagles Berrnie Leadon. This my friends is some Amazing music !!! This music was adventrous because of its fusion of country, folk , rock, bluegrass and hints of psychedelia and it led the way for a whole new era in the eclectic blend which was the Late Sixties....Ten songs mostly written by guitarist Larry Miller, with a cover of Arlo Guthrie's "Highway in the Wind". Also included is their non charting 45 release "Rock and Roll Gypsies". "Ode to a Tin Angel is a splendid piece of orchestrated Psychedelic pop. Another quality of this band were the blending of their close harmonies. A rare gem indeed, an undiscovered masterpiece acually. Honest to goodness Great stuff !!!!
