HEARTBREAKERS MISPRESS PLAYS AS IN THE CITY BY THE JAM:
This is a very genuine rarity which I have never seen (or even heard about) elsewhere. Whatever the reason for this is, the item is most unlikely to be seen very often in the future.
The record labels are for the Heartbreakers 1977 single, "Chinese Rocks" b/w "Born To Lose" (Track Records 2094-135). However, the record plays the first single by the Jam from the same year, "In The City" b/w "Takin' My Love" (Polydor 2058 866). In the run-out groove of side A there is no change to the matrix number (2094135 AN3 C), but side B has a matrix number stamped out to leave just the Heartbreakers matrix number, 2094135 BN3 C). (Mispressed in the UK.)
a-side: The Heartbreakers - Chinese Rocks (plays "In The City" by the Jam).
b-side: The Heartbreakers - Born To Lose (plays "Takin' My Love" by the Jam).
Vinyl is in genuinely excellent condition & is virtually unmarked.
Labels are clean with no writing & just a couple of spindle marks indicate very light play.
Plain sleeve.

Sorry that the scan is dark...I didn't realise this was so until the item had gone out...but there isn't a lot to see, anyway. The labels have no writing, surface tears or even finger nicks. You can see a couple of spindle marks...but neither side has any significant wear. I can't rescan because the item is at the shop & I won't be back until after the end of this auction.
